PARKING, TRANSPORTATION & ROAD CLOSURES

PARKING: There is very little parking available in West Potomac Park (MAP) for the National Women’s Half Marathon & 8K Road Race. Small lots are available along Ohio Drive, just south of the inlet bridge. But lots’ A, B, & C will not be accessible after 6:00 am on race morning due to road closures for the impending race time start of 7:00 am. There is also limited street parking on Constitution Ave.

GETTING TO THE START: PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY to give yourself enough time to get to the venue. The quickest way to get to the starting area in West Potomac Park would be to take either a local DC Taxi Service, LyftUber or book a spot with Spothero.com. Parking is extremely tight in West Potomac Park and the Metro is not operational pre-race until 8:00 am on a Sunday, morning in Washington DC. If you are using one of these forms of transportation you want to be dropped off at the Lincoln Memorial (MAP), 2 Lincoln Memorial Cir NW, Washington, DC 20037, and then walk the short 2-3 blocks to the event race site along the Potomac River.

ROAD CLOSURES: these will go into effect in two different stages. Sections of Rock Creek Parkway will be closing at 5:30am for course equipment to be dropped and placed into position North of Virginia Avenue along Rock Creek Parkway. Independence Avenue which runs parallel to the race site along Ohio Drive in West Potomac Park will close at 6:00am along with Ohio Drive from the Inlet Bridge near the Jefferson Memorial to West Basin Drive. Ohio Drive from West Basin Drive north to Ericsson Circle, will close from 11:00pm on Saturday evening to 4:00pm Sunday for the starting line formation and the finish line activities.

BICYCLE PARKING: there will be limited bike check at gear check along West Basin Dr.

METRO: the Metro is not operational pre-race. Post-race the closest Metro stations are Smithsonian and Federal Triangle.
